Hi. I am Keeran Roberts, a 37 years old freelance documentary style wedding, portrait photographer. In the three years of capturing beautiful memories for my clients, I have shot over 20 weddings. As a freelance photographer, I cover mainly Sussex, Surrey, Essex, Hampshire, Hemel Hempstead, Essex, London, St Albans and Bedfordshire. I have travelled and captured weddings in Scotland, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Rome, Paris, France and Italy.
My love for photography came at a very young age when I got my first Olympus OM1 film camera as a Christmas present. I began to snap photos of family. I found that capturing family and friends without them noticing revealed a truly loving and remarkable side to their personalities. To this day, I still have my original photos from my Olympus OM1 which I cherish.
I served in the British Army as a Grenadier Guardsman and the London Regiment for 8 years before pursuing my love for photography. I love running, mountain biking and where possible I enjoy the extreme moments of free fall sky diving.
I am professionally trained, fully accredited and insured to carry out your work, giving you the confidence that the work I conduct on your behalf is conducted professionally and to industry standard. I approach all my photography sessions as I am telling your story in the form of capturing captivating images. I focus on the characters, the fleeting moments and the emotions. I use the ambient light as much as possible, this allows me to be unobtrusive, a fly on the wall. Years from now, the taste of the cake, the smell of the flowers may have faded in your memory, but the photos of your day will be with you to treasure for ever.
HOW I WORK
As a photographer, I capture no more than 15 weddings a year. This gives me the chance to concentrate on editing your images so they are crisp and clear for when you receive them. As a documentary wedding photographer or otherwise know as a "reportage wedding photographer" my style of photography is unobtrusive which means I capture those fleeting moments which I would not be able to capture if you were posing. I work alone. I am not invisible nor do I make myself centre stage. I am telling your story through imagery. Having a second photographer working with me inhibits my ability to capture your day from the various angles and perspectives. I take each wedding as if its my own and how I would have my wedding photographed.
Prior to your wedding day I will always ask you what photos you would like captured on the day. I will always meet you at the wedding venue before your big day. This will allow you to know me as your photographer and for me to understand you as a couple. I will always look around the wedding venue so I have a clear indication of where I will be standing, where you will be standing and to allow to mitigate any potential photographic issues on the day such as lighting. As a lone photographer I cannot guarantee that I will capture all your required photos but I will always do my upmost to meet the requirements of your day.
WHAT I DO NOT DO
Photography is all about "you" and capturing your moments and your natural emotions in the most natural settings is something I take great pride in. I will never ask you to pose, jump, twirl or play up to the camera. This is your day, you enjoy yourself and let me capture those timeless moments for you. I will never intrude or stop your guests from enjoying themselves on the day, however you or your guests are welcome to grab me at anytime for a quick photo.
